Police Scotland

Problem: People aren’t reporting their neighbours breaching COVID rules.

Insight: 1 in 3 people have had some kind of other dispute with their neighbours.

Solution: We’ll show that COVID breaches are much worse than other types of bad neighbour behaviour, and should be reported.

SHOT ONE
Allen, (45) stands at his window watching people file into the house next door one by one. He walks towards the phone.

Allen’s thoughts
”We can’t rat out the neighbours”

SHOT TWO
Allen pauses left hand hovering over the phone. He turns to look back towards the window.

Allen’s thoughts cont’d
”But why not?”

SHOT THREE
Allen walks towards the window. The faint hum of Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! floats through the air.

Allen’s thoughts
All they ever do is park in our parking space.
But they did bring back our blender. 3 weeks later, and broken.
But we like the Docherty’s.
We also like holidays, and I’d like to have another before I’m 85…
It’s not very neighbourly is it”

SHOT FOUR
Allen walks over to the phone, and starts dialling

Allen
”No, what’s not being neighbourly is throwing a party that brings COVID right next door. It’s selfish and could mean staying in lockdown”

SHOT FIVE
Allen puts the phone to his ear

Allen
Hello, I’d like to report a breach in COVID regulations
